Scrapping one page at a time

Wrapping Up the Forever Young Love

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have  fallen in love with the girls on the Forever Young cart.  After cutting them  4″ girls for the thank you cards and also making them at 3″ for some other cards I was playing with, I had to play with them at a larger size. I created this darling page with a doll cut at 9″, and I think I love her even more than I did the little ones. I have also been forcing myself to “Use my Stash,” So I used a bit of Basic Grey that I have been hoarding, and I think it was the first time a successfully integrated the BG stickers that come in those fabulous paper packs into my layout! Woo Hoo!

Also a big walloping “Thank You” to my brother.   Gregg’s kids are the subject of most of my scrapbook pages; He also for took the picture on this layout and the picture of the layout.

Fashion Friendly Thank You cards!

As soon as I first spotted Cricut’s Forever Young cartridge, I knew that I was going to need to get this cart.  As a surprise gift for a special someone, I whipped up a set of fabulous Thank you cards using this card.  15 cards, all unique but corresponding…. I used the fabulous new Origins line from Basic Grey (love the colors and the prints in this; especially at the 6X6 size!)  Check them out (and the cute box I made to go with them in the pictures below!

In the beginning….

There once was a girl who liked to scrapbook and also really liked owls. Now, we are not just talking about a passive interest in scrapbooking; no, this girl was full-on obsessed (the same could be said for her interest in all things owl-ie). In fact, she probably spends more time and money on these two obsessions than she spends on anything else. Her boyfriend, friends, and family have been telling her for years that she should do something more with her obvious talent and the experience she has procured just from being so obsessed. So, here I am introducing you all to me and my new blog: Odd Bird Out.

It is on this blog that I hope to share my enthusiasm and obsession for scrapbooking with others who share my passion. I will post projects I am working on, share tips and tricks, and probably obsess over all things Owl! I can’t help it, I am just a bit of an Odd Bird.

To get me started in sharing here is one of my favorite Owl’s Cut from Cricut’s Paisley Cart.  (Yes I am a Cricut obsessee too!!!)

An ATC I made for a swap and then proceeded to lose. Thank goodness I at least have this picture.

Isn't he the cutest thing.
